Outstanding Known Issues

Table 1, page 2 lists the problem reports (PRs) for issues that are

known, but not fixed in switch firmware 5.2. Workarounds are

provided. Outstanding known issues are organized by their Problem

Category, then their PR number. Each is assigned a Problem Category

such as Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP), the Telnet

command line interface (CLI), McDATA Embedded Web Server, and

Element Manager.

8767 Description/Symptom: The shortcut key [Alt+S,a] will open the

hard reset window instead of the expected archive window (same

shortcut key used in different situations)

Customer Impact: low

Workaround/Recovery: Use the pull down menu instead of the

shortcut key.

9557 Description/Symptom: In some instances, the Wizards menu is

displayed before the View menu.

Customer Impact: none

10467 Description/Symptom: In cases where the fabric has a login

failure to the switch(es), the GUI continues to attempt subsequent

logins every second. This fills the alarm logs and other (more

important) alarm logs may be lost as a result. In addition, the

repeated attempts to login and subsequent failures disrupt the

usability of Telnet sessions until the fabric is closed. This is only

an issue if there are multiple GUIs pointed at the fabric.

Customer Impact: medium

Workaround/Recovery: Point only one GUI at the fabric.
