Known Issues

The following issues are being studied for solution:

■ “Cascading Limitation” on page 3

■ “Use Open Fabric Mode” on page 3

No Loop Support

The 6140 director does not work with loop devices. Therefore, the Sun StorEdge T3

and T3+ arrays and the Sun StorEdge 3910 and 3960 systems are not supported in

loop mode. However, the Sun StorEdge T3+ array and Sun StorEdge 3910 and 3960

systems are supported in fabric mode. Since the Sun StorEdge T3 array works only

in the loop mode, it is not supported.

Cascading Limitation

The 6140 director allows a maximum of three switch hops.

Use Open Fabric Mode

The 6140 director has two operating modes: McDATA and Open fabric. Use only the

Open fabric mode. The McDATA mode is not supported.
